For example, the area of our lives called “Finances”\n  doesn’t have a definite end date. — Tiago Forte\n\u003C\u002Fblockquote>\n\u003Cp>\n  Consider\n  \u003Cstrong>Areas\u003C\u002Fstrong>\n  as continuous aspects or themes in your life. For instance, you might have a “\n  \u003Cstrong>finances\u003C\u002Fstrong>\n  ” area where you manage your taxes or a “\n  \u003Cstrong>health\u003C\u002Fstrong>\n  ” area where you focus on maintaining your fitness.\n\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\n  Unlike projects,\n  \u003Cstrong>areas can not be completed\u003C\u002Fstrong>\n  . They are vital for tracking your thoughts, information, dreams, and desires over time.\n\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\n  In contrast to projects, areas can not be completed. They are important on an ongoing basis, but unlike projects,\n  they’re also important later too. While they’re not as actionable as projects are, they still need our focus to track\n  ideas, information, dreams, and wishes over time.\n\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Ch4 id=\"resources\">Resources\u003C\u002Fh4>\n\u003Cp>\n  If there is no project or area, we can place some information in a so-called\n  \u003Cstrong>Resource.\u003C\u002Fstrong>\n  Resources are not directly actionable at the moment, but might be helpful for actionable projects in the future.\n\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cblockquote>\n  The third category of information that we want to keep is resources. They stand as ever-ready\n  references, helpful to support future projects or areas that might require more direct action.\n\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Chr \u002F>\n\u003Ch4 id=\"archive\">Archive\u003C\u002Fh4>\n\u003Cp>\n  The archive holds items that are either finished or no longer in use. Typically,\n  \u003Cstrong>projects\u003C\u002Fstrong>\n  are the things we archive most since they have a clear end date.\n  \u003Cstrong>Resources\u003C\u002Fstrong>\n  are also often archived.&nbsp;\n\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cblockquote class=\"kg-blockquote-alt\">\n  […] there’s no reason to delete anything these days just archive it — Tiago Forte&nbsp;in&nbsp;\n\u003C\u002Fblockquote>\n\u003Cp>\n  On the other hand,\n  \u003Cstrong>areas\u003C\u002Fstrong>\n  are seldom archived because they represent long-term topics — though it can occur, say, if you undergo a significant\n  life change or choose to alter your priorities.\n\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\n  The great thing about the archive is that it’s still searchable and available for later access. In a digital world,\n  it’s not necessary to delete anything completely.
